The Role
My client, a reputable and long-standing legal firm in Portlaoise is looking to hire a skilled and experienced Legal Executive to become a valued member of their dynamic team. This is a full-time, permanent role that offers a truly rewarding career path with clear opportunities for advancement.
From the outset, you'll take on meaningful responsibilities, independently managing files and collaborating closely with solicitors across a wide variety of legal matters. This position provides excellent scope for professional development, with the potential to broaden your role and progress into a more senior, client-facing capacity over time.
Tasks & Duties
- Managing legal files with minimal supervision, taking ownership of cases and workflow.
- Preparing and drafting legal documentation and correspondence to a high standard.
- Handling dictation, document production, and file management.
- Providing end-to-end support in areas such as conveyancing and probate.
- Liaising confidently with clients, financial institutions, and third parties, both in writing and verbally.
- Coordinating with courts, external agencies, and internal teams to ensure case progression.
- Exercising strong judgment and initiative in progressing legal work and solving problems.
- Supporting solicitors in both legal and operational matters, acting as a trusted right-hand.
- Actively contributing to the efficient running of the practice through general office duties when required.
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in a busy legal office, ideally in a client-facing or executive-level support role
- Solid background in conveyancing and probate preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
- Confident working independently and managing competing priorities
- Proficiency in dictation and document preparation
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to take initiative without being micromanaged
- Currently residing within a commutable distance to Portlaoise, with full legal working rights in Ireland.
