Key Responsibilities Process and Prepare:
Utilize CAM software to convert customer design files into production-ready formats for manufacturing.
Design Analysis:
Evaluate incoming design files for manufacturability, providing feedback and potential improvements to engineering teams.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure PCB designs meet supplier manufacturing capabilities and adhere to IPC standards.
Layout &
Documentation:
Create and modify PCB layouts; generate necessary artwork, documentation, and fabrication files to facilitate smooth production.
Cost & Efficiency:
Identify ways to optimize designs for lower production costs and faster cycle times.
Problem Solving:
Proactively detect design flaws, offering practical solutions and alternate approaches for improved outcomes.
Collaboration:
Work with cross-functional teams—engineering, sales, and project management—to continuously refine workflows and products.
File Reviews:
Thoroughly check and validate generated files, promptly resolving potential issues.
Stay Current:
Keep abreast of emerging CAM technologies and industry trends, suggesting upgrades or new tools when beneficial.
Documentation:
Maintain clear, accurate records of workflows, updates, and best practices.
Requirements Experience:
At least 2+ years in a CAM Technician or similar PCB manufacturing role.
Education:
A degree or diploma in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Equivalent work experience or demonstrated project success will also be considered.
Software Proficiency:
Strong command of CAD/CAM tools (e.g., Pentalogix ViewMate Pro, Genesis, CAM350, or similar).
Standards & Processes:
Solid understanding of IPC standards, design rules, and the PCB manufacturing process.
Technical Aptitude:
Proven ability to rapidly learn new concepts, tools, and technologies; comfort with self-directed research under tight deadlines.
Attention to Detail:
Excellent problem-solving skills in electronics/PCB design, with a meticulous eye for potential errors.
Team Player:
Able to work independently when needed but also thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills for client interactions and effective teamwork.

Prior participation in electronics or open-source projects.
Advanced PCB Tech:
Familiarity with multi-layer, flexible PCBs, or embedded circuit technology.
Supply Chain Insight:
Experience with supply chain management or de-risking strategies.
Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Thorough knowledge of DFM principles.
Quality & Testing:
Competency in quality assurance procedures and testing methodologies.
Programming/
CAD:
Hands-on experience with programming languages relevant to PCB design and automation.

Location This position is based at our Macroom, Co. Cork, Ireland office.
Hybrid work is available if you can regularly attend in-person meetings, collaborations, and events in office.
