What you’ll be doing...
Verizon’s Services seeks dynamic professionals in Roaming who are interested in joining our team. This Strategic Planning Roaming Negotiator position will play a lead role in supporting Verizon's mobile subscribers and IoT (Internet of Things) businesses through the creation of contracts which optimize expenses and maximize revenue generation opportunities, ultimately growing margin and shareholder value. In addition, this position will represent Verizon’s commercial and technical position in industry forums such as the GSMA.
A key aspect of the Roaming role is building collaborative relationships with our internal business partners and strategic relationships with our suppliers. The Business Development and Strategic Planning Manager will actively manage multiple time-sensitive requests, effectively interface with all levels of management while ensuring the sourcing process is completed consistent with Verizon policies and goals.
The Business Development and Strategic Planning Manager is accountable for the overall relationship with International Wireless Operators (Mobile Network Operators - MNOs). The key focus will be negotiating new roaming, permanent roaming and outbound eUICC agreements; international roaming customer experience; roaming cost structure, and creating opportunities for inbound roaming revenue. Success in this position will require a proactive leader with strong analytical and negotiating skills, exceptional stakeholder awareness and engagement, and a mix of strategic and tactical thinking.
Responsibilities:
* Develop a strategic plan for the MNO partners in your region over a multi-year time horizon, collaborating with internal stakeholders and MNO partners to bridge the gap between strategy and execution.
* Negotiate commercial terms of roaming, permanent roaming and outbound eUICC agreements (new and amendments to existing agreements), including establishing relationships with Roaming Contacts at other MNOs.
* Manage contract administration, working closely with legal counsel to create and amend contracts consistent with business principles agreed to between the operators.
* Oversee relationship management, resolving commercial issues in partnership with technical, marketing, and finance organizations (e.g. network, operations, revenue assurance, finance, marketing), including driving projects to completion.
* Identify contract improvements, simplifications, and optimization opportunities to drive better outcomes.
* Manage supplier relationships, effectively maintaining positive and ethical working relationships.
* Proactively engage to assess and drive expense mitigation actions, such as Steering of Roaming and coverage planning.
* Be a trusted partner and SME related to international roaming to the enterprise (VCG, VBG and Corporate).
* Understand Verizon’s position regarding 5G and IoT as it pertains to commercial and technology requirements, and represent Verizon’s position at industry forums, such as the GSMA.
The Business Development and Strategic Planning Manager will be expected to formulate pricing recommendations designed to preserve/improve Verizon competitiveness while protecting profitability. This may require financial analysis and/or business case development of alternative scenarios and recommendations to management, including creating concise decks/presentations for review with senior management.

You'll need to have:
* Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
* Experience in the Roaming and/or Wireless telecommunications industry specifically in Carrier Management of MNOs.
* Experience in a fast-paced dynamic International environment.
* Experience with direct negotiations.
* Experience in contract negotiations including business, price, and technical terms.
* Experience in drafting contract documents required for the establishment of business content elements.
Even better if you have:
* A degree.
* Knowledge of Strategic Sourcing processes, policies, and procedures.
* Knowledge and experience with GSM and/or LTE Roaming.
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management, Finance, Sourcing, or a Technical discipline.
* Ability to influence decision makers.
* Experience with Project Management in a complex multi-project and multi-geography environment, delivering to time, cost, and quality.
* Good interpersonal and client service skills.
* Self-motivated/self-starter with the ability to work independently.
* Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
* International travel may be required (25%).
