Job Description
State Street’s Loan Services group has been servicing the institutional loan asset class since 1989 and is currently one of the industry’s leading service providers for this complex investment. State Street’s diverse client and product structure base includes 1940 Act funds, hedge funds, private funds, structured products, offshore vehicles, sovereign wealth funds, and other institutional accounts investing in the institutional loan asset class. Loan Services provides custody, accounting, and loan administration to this diverse client base across the global organization.
An Associate 2 monitors, reviews, and performs daily maintenance and record keeping for Syndicated Bank Loans held in various Mutual Fund and other Structured portfolios for various SSC clients. An Associate 2 will work closely with various State Street processing groups (e.g., Client Service, Accounting Operations, etc.) to service clients investing in institutional loans.
Responsibilities:
* Perform and oversee employee processing trades, booking receipts, and disbursements.
* Receive new funds.
* Calculate and process fund and account activities, e.g., supporting NAV, cash movements, distributions, corporate actions, processed transactions, etc., and prepare proofs as needed.
* Research and resolve exceptions, reconciliations, incorrect transactions, and issues.
* Produce daily roll-forward proof of portfolio holdings and accrual information.
* Support the production of financial, performance, and/or quality reports for clients, shareholders, directors, and management as needed.
* Receive and resolve inquiries in a timely and accurate manner and communicate effectively with clients when necessary.
* Escalate unresolved issues to management as required.
* Maintain knowledge of current alternative procedures and processes.
* Prepare and verify information for various projects/special requests as directed.
* Support training of new hires as necessary.
* Provide coverage in the absence of team members.
* Identify any unusual or potentially suspicious transaction activity and report and/or escalate in accordance with corporate policy and guidelines detailed in relevant operating procedures.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Associate’s degree with business-related coursework; B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
* 1-3 years experience in accounting, finance, mutual fund operations, loan servicing, or related careers preferred.
* Technical knowledge of bank loans and bank loan processing is strongly preferred.
* Ability to coordinate the work of others.
* Strong computer competence: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and MCH; Wallstreet Office.

* Strong interpersonal skills and oral communication skills.
* Multitasking capability.
* Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
