Elusavrecruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer with a leading Global Biopharmaceutical in Cork, Ireland.
The Senior Buyer will play a key role in the coordination and execution of all activities related to the planning and purchase of components. This includes converting the output of the Master Schedule and detailed schedule (MRP) for production needs into material requirements to ensure availability of the right quantity when needed.
Responsibilities
* Develop and Execute the Materials Requirement Plan (MRP) by ensuring efficient and effective procurement and inventory practices and optimizing the balance between quality, service, reliability, and cost.
* Ensure that patient/customer requirements are met while maintaining compliance.
* Focus on master data of materials in SAP to ensure correct signals are received in a timely manner.
* Communicate material delivery schedules to suppliers on time to meet planned requirements.
* Maintain raw material and consumable inventories within target, minimizing excess, obsolete, and expired materials.
A strong self-starter who uses initiative to identify, communicate, and resolve issues as they arise.
Run business meetings, communicating potential impacts to the production schedule, supplier reliability/service issues.
Elevate issues through site and global forums to ensure timely resolution.
Interface with Quality and Warehouse staff regarding rejected/defective materials.
Liaise with suppliers to clarify plan constraints and interfaces between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Support operational readiness activities and scenario planning.
Partner with Tops Global Procurement (TGP) to manage the supplier and materials selection process.
In collaboration with TGP, ensure new material qualification and setup on SAP.
Drive supplier performance improvement, including quality and on-time delivery.
Track and report site-level supplier service performance, communicating information to relevant parties.
Execute potential deviations to the plan, assessing feasibility with suppliers.
Liaise with Warehouse to understand and adhere to space constraints.
Effectively partner with internal and external business partners, leading cross-functional teams to ensure best possible solutions.
Foster continuous improvements of processes, such as MRP signal improvement initiatives.
Develop and project-manage local and global programs to deliver continuous improvement in KPIs.
Align with strategies and realize departmental and business goals.
Coordinate and complete required compliance process activities.
Requirements:
* A minimum of an Honours Degree (NFQ level 8) in Supply Chain Management or other related Business discipline.
* Supply Chain Certification is preferred (e.g., APICS).
* Project Management or Lean Certification is desirable.
* A minimum of 5 years relevant Supply Chain Management experience.
* Experience in Planning/Purchasing in a pharmaceutical environment with a strong technical/systems background is desirable.
* Experience of SAP would be beneficial, but ERP system competency is essential.
* Prove track record in managing a direct material category.
* Power BI or similar data analytics visual tool knowledge is desirable but not essential.
* Experience working in a GMP environment.
