Purchasing Assistant - Wholesale Hardware Distributor (Ireland)
We are a leading wholesale hardware distributor supplying a range of agricultural, gardening, household electrical, and DIY products throughout Ireland.
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to negotiate on terms, conditions, pricing, and delivery charges to ensure optimal cost efficiencies. They must also be able to optimize inventory levels, answer emails and queries within the business and from suppliers, forecast and avoid any stock issues, investigate and resolve any stock discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Negotiate with suppliers to secure best possible prices and delivery terms
* Manage inventory levels to minimize stock shortages and excess stock
* Provide exceptional customer service through prompt email responses and query resolution
* Forecast demand and take proactive measures to prevent stock issues
* Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in stock levels
Requirements:
* 2-3 years experience in a similar purchasing role
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Ability to work accurately with attention to detail
* Proven problem-solving skills
* Strong teamwork and IT competencies
