Our client, a leading government body, is seeking an experienced Auditor for a 12-month contract.
Job Description
The successful candidate will conduct audits and verification checks on funded programs to ensure funds are used appropriately and in compliance with regulations. This involves on-site and remote assessments, report writing, and providing feedback to funded organizations to enhance governance and financial management.
Regular travel across Ireland is required.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct audit & verification checks on funded organizations.
* Assess financial records, internal controls, and expenditure compliance.
* Evaluate adherence to accounting regulations & programme rules.
* Prepare detailed reports on findings, recommendations, and risk issues.
* Monitor budgets, financial statements, and governance practices.
* Provide guidance & training on financial management and governance.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Requirements
* Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) and audit experience.
* Strong knowledge of financial reviews, forensic accounting, and compliance.
* Proficiency in MS Office & accounting software.
* Excellent report writing & analytical skills.
* Ability to work autonomously & meet deadlines.
* Full driving license with car availability for business travel.
Desirable
* Experience in the public/voluntary sector.
* Knowledge of EU & government accounting regulations.
