We are looking for a candidate with a combination of technical competence and strong relationship management skills to join our team of experienced experts who manage large commercial property.
Role Responsibilities:
- Profitably underwrite commercial property renewals and new business opportunities to achieve GWP.
- Manage and build relationships with intermediaries, within the team and with colleagues in other areas of the business.
- Oversee the end-to-end customer outcome of allocated renewals aligned to target KPI's.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships within the team, other areas of the business and external partners.
- Balance the speed of turnaround with the technical requirements of the role to deliver on renewal retention and any new business conversion.
- Engage with internal team members in Sales, Pricing, and Portfolio management to negotiate terms and conduct a detailed risk assessment and acceptance within the existing Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) framework agreements.
Experience and Qualifications Essential Experience:
- A minimum of 6 years experience in writing property insurance including underwriting large GWP and technical cases.
- APA or relevant qualification.
- Experience in business development, customer relationship management, achieving targets, technical underwriting.
Desirable Experience:
- CIP or working towards ACII.
- Consistent track record in terms of meeting ambitious underwriting targets.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Salesforce.
- Evidence of having successfully handled customer/broker relationships in previous roles.
