**European Sovereign Cloud Initiative: Seeking Technical Program Managers
AWS is launching the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), a groundbreaking development in utility computing. To lead this effort, we are searching for experienced Technical Program Managers with expertise in program management and collaboration with Software Engineers.
As part of the AWS Managed Operations team, you will play a key role in delivering high-availability AWS services, including EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock, exclusively for EU customers. Learn more about ESC on our blog here .
The European Sovereign Cloud is an integral part of AWS Utility Computing (UC).
AWS Utility Computing (UC) offers innovative products – from foundational services like Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that differentiate AWS's services and features in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within AWS UC, Managed Operations engineers engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
**Key Requirements:**
* Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
* Successful applicants must have the legal right to work in Ireland.
* Amazon will provide relocation support for successful applicants relocating within the European Union.
**Job Responsibilities:**
* You will work closely with software development and product teams to deliver high-quality, scalable products deployed worldwide.
* You will collaborate with product teams to deliver the best product with efficient use of resources and technologies.
* You will work with stakeholders to assemble project teams, assign responsibilities, identify necessary resources, and develop schedules to ensure timely project completion by meeting project milestones.
* You will assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, balance business needs versus technical constraints, and encourage risk-taking behavior to maximize business benefits.

**Requirements for Success:**
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical or business field.
* 6+ years of experience managing technical programs across cross-functional development teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.
* Experience in project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
* Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition.
* Experience in software architecture and system design.
* Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to scale businesses and provide reporting to senior leadership.
* Strong sense of ownership, including promoting operational excellence.
* Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
* Experience with AWS platforms, services, and design patterns.
