The Job: Microbiology Analyst
Reporting to: Microbiology Lab Supervisor
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Working as directed by Microbiology Laboratory supervisor according to Company safety policies and quality standards ISO17025 and ISO 9001.
* Performing microbiological testing and confirmation on samples to relevant test methods.
* Performing testing using techniques on a variety of samples.
* Ensuring results are recorded in a timely and accurate fashion.
* Completion of test records / LIMS and ensuring Right First Time KPIs are achieved.
* Stock control within Micro laboratory.
* Support of validation activity when required.
* Maintaining laboratory records in a state of compliance.
* Participating in audits when required.
* Performing or assisting Quality Manager with calibration of equipment.
* Waste control and maintenance of the laboratory and of Lab cleaning schedule.
* Performing any other activities as indicated by the Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor.
* Support the Lean Laboratory program within the Microbiology Laboratory.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
* A 3rd level science qualification or a related discipline is required.
* Good team player, organised, accurate, have strong documentation skills.
* Passionate about technical expertise and quality work.
* Good communication skills both internally and externally.
* Ability to meet timelines.
* Ability to foster and maintain trusted and collaborative working relationships with colleagues and clients.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills.
* Ability to keep track of multiple tasks and responsibilities and work successfully to deadlines though prioritisation and good time management.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills including active listening and empathy.
* A good team player within the department and inter-departmental to ensure customer requirements are being met on time.
* Show flexibility and passion for the work we do, play an active role in the departmental development.
