Position Description
ESB Asset Development is charged with delivery of the generation assets required to meet ESB’s 2030 Strategy. One key goal of the 2030 strategy is the de-carbonisation of our existing generation assets fleet. To this end we are seeking to increase our Renewable Generation to 5000MW from a current level of circa 1000MW.
ESB Asset Development is seeking applications for the role of Project Manager, for Onshore Wind Development. The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for the early phase development of new and current onshore wind projects in Great Britain. The role will entail working in collaboration with our external development partners and within ESB develop projects from early-stage concept to construction ready. Co-ordination of multi-disciplinary teams both internal and external will be a feature of these roles.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include the following:
1. Oversight of third-party project developers and providers of technical services
2. Leading landowner negotiations, as well as all other required development agreements.
3. Overseeing the development of specific Project(s) from initiation to construction ready
4. Development of the business case and capital approval process
5. Implementation of Health & Safety policies and procedures
6. Leading initial Site Feasibility plans
7. Co-ordinating and delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR), and planning application preparation
8. External stakeholder management including local communities and local authorities
9. Regular management reporting
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
10. At least 7 years relevant industry experience with specific experience in delivery of EIA applications.
11. Knowledge and Experience in developing renewable energy projects
12. Understanding of power generation business and renewable energy technology
13. Experience of stakeholder engagement and management
14. Good interpersonal skills
15. Knowledge and experience of the Planning and Environmental Consenting processes
Desirable
16. Experience in negotiations with landowners or similar commercial
Qualifications
Essential
17. 3rd level qualification or equivalent (Engineering, Business or Planning related discipline desirable)
18. Or equivalent work experience is required.
