Purpose of the Role
The CNM II Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Co‑Ordinator provides expert, person‑centred nursing leadership and co‑ordination across the Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) pathway. The role ensures the delivery of safe, high‑quality, evidence‑based care for patients and donors through comprehensive clinical assessment, care co‑ordination, advocacy, education, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team across acute and community settings. The post holder leads service development, quality improvement, education, audit, and research to support best practice, regulatory compliance, and optimal patient and donor outcomes within the HSCT programme.
St James’s Hospital is the National Centre for Adult Bone Marrow Transplantation. The Transplantation service forms an integral part of the Haematology Department.
In respect of all issues relating to the clinical care and management of our HSC donors and recipients, the post holder must be aware of their responsibilities in relation to the EU Directive 2004/23/EC.
