Company description: FBD Holdings PLC Job description: Job Overview Business Support and Relationship Management including: Point of contact for Reinsurer partners and brokers, managing communication link, including dealing with queries, attending meetings, maintaining meeting minutes thereof and providing business updates to reinsurers. Prepares reinsurance market presentations and business profiles to support placements. Provide support and assistance to Executive management and Heads of Departments who interact with our Reinsurance partners and/or who are contributors to the companys Reinsurance strategy. Work closely with the other functional areas (Risk, Finance, Actuarial, Audit) developing requirements, preparing submissions and negotiating to finalise agreements. It would be desirable (but not a core requirement) for role holder to have expertise in analysing and modelling Reinsurance structures and having ability to critique/validate analysis completed and contribute to the development of the Reinsurance structure. Job Responsibilities Financial and Administrative aspects including: Completion of Technical Accounts on a quarterly/yearly basis. Reconciliation and posting of premiums and incurred claims, recoveries to financial department. Accurate and prompt settlement and reconciliation of all reinsurance minimum and deposit premiums, yearly adjustments, cash calls and quarterly reinsurance treaty accounts. Perform credit control functions for receivables/payables and related account reconciliations. Claim recovery processes. Develop and maintain reinsurance accounting spreadsheets to capture reinsurance programme information and ensure that premiums and recoveries can be apportioned as necessary. Support the Finance department in ensuring that they reflect the correct reinsurance data in the annual accounts planning and continuous forecasting process. Control and monitoring including: Review, maintain, submit for approval and subsequently publish reinsurance process and procedure documents and Control framework in line with best practice, solvency II requirements. Ensure that all processes carried out within the Reinsurance department are in line with departmental procedures and sign off procedures. Support senior management by providing financial information as required to assist with reinsurance programme reviews. Maintain and manage reinsurance treaty performance tracking statistics for all reinsurers. Act as Risk Champion for the Function. Prepare reports that support presentation of various portfolios, including how we monitor and manage risks, the impact of Underwriting Changes etc. Education The Reinsurance Manager will have a minimum of a third level degree. Seven years or more career experience working within an Insurance environment with an excellent understanding of Reinsurance structures, coverages and practices.
