Jigsaw is the National Centre for Youth Mental Health. We are committed to leading a nationwide transformation in the area of youth mental health.
We believe in intervening early with mental health difficulties, offering a therapeutic service to young people at primary care level. Our network of Jigsaw services provides young people aged 12-25 with a place or digital space to receive confidential support from mental health professionals.
We advocate for a holistic and integrated view of the individual person, which is inextricable from the contexts of their lives. Our youth mental health promotion work seeks to enhance community engagement and increase knowledge and understanding in relation to youth mental health.
Youth Voice
Service user engagement and wider youth participation is about involving young people, listening to them and giving them a voice in how our services and supports are planned, designed, implemented and evaluated.
Responsibilities
* Undertake initial mental health assessments with young people focusing on both strengths and difficulties.
* Provide evidence-informed brief, therapeutic interventions to young people.
* Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management plans as appropriate.
* Participate in clinical supervision and line management for support and guidance.
* Work in accordance with Jigsaw Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.
* Participate in case management meetings, team meetings and other meetings as deemed necessary.
* Liaise and consult with other professionals in supporting the mental health of young people attending Jigsaw.
* Fulfill obligations as per the Children First Act 2015 and comply with the Jigsaw Child Protection and Welfare policy.
* Maintain accurate, confidential records of practice using the Jigsaw Data System and cooperate with reporting requirements as per the Jigsaw Record Keeping Policy.
* Comply with responsibilities under the Data Protection Acts 1988, 2003 & 2018 (GDPR).
* Share information with the Jigsaw Clinical Manager, Service Manager, Jigsaw team and other stakeholders as appropriate in accordance with good practice.
* Contribute to research, audit and evaluation of the service as required.
* Maintain professional and personal boundaries.
* Engage in outreach work as required.
* Demonstrate an open and flexible attitude to work at all times.
* Be flexible regarding working hours in line with the needs of the service, i.e., evenings.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychology and/or Chartered Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychologist through PSI or be registered with An Bord Altranais as a Mental Health Nurse or CORU as a Social Worker/Occupational Therapist.
Desirable criteria include experience working in health and social care, therapeutic or related organisational settings supporting people with their mental health needs and experience working therapeutically with young people aged 12-25 years.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this role is €37,000 - €57,200. Jigsaw operates a defined contribution pension scheme, 10% Employer / 5% Employee, and offers 25 days annual leave exclusive of public holidays and 1.5 company days.
