Onsite Safety Manager - Wrexham
A leading technical contractor spanning a geographical remit across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and the USA. Specialising in large scale industrial commercial construction projects with a focus on the pharmaceutical and logistics industries, there is a solid pipeline of work ahead. Due to an increase in project workload, there is an opportunity for an experienced Safety Manager to lead an industrial commercial construction project in Wrexham. As Safety Manager, you will oversee and manage health and safety protocols for large-scale construction work. The successful candidate will report to the Project Director and Regional Safety Lead.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Conduct regular formal site audits and carry out inspections as directed in the Safety Management system/PSCS.
2. Attend Safety Leadership Tours.
3. Coaching and mentoring staff in creating a positive safety culture.
4. Reviewing RAMS/Subcontractor documentation.
5. Communicate the findings of the audits to site management and project director and assist in the closure of issues in line with company policy.
6. Assessing the EHS function to identify areas for improvement and develop new initiatives.
7. Investigating and analyzing incidents and identifying root causes.
8. To provide training and information to the workforce using appropriate training aids and media, communicating and promoting initiatives for accident prevention and greater EHS awareness.
9. Thorough knowledge of relevant environmental health & safety legislation.
10. Ability to manage, mentor and promote Safety onsite.
11. Maintaining management systems in accordance with ISO and SafeT Cert.
12. Represent the company impeccably with clients, subcontractors, and third parties.
Skills and Qualifications
1. Relevant EHS qualification essential.
2. Experience in a similar role is essential.
3. Experience working in the Commercial Construction Sector is essential.
4. PSCS experience.
5. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office required.
6. Excellent organisational and planning skills.
7. Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
