Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Casualty Underwriter to join our client in Dublin City/Hybrid.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a global leader within the Casualty & Property market, managing a unique book of business in Ireland. The role focuses on mid to large-sized corporate accounts, offering a blend of technical underwriting responsibilities and relationship management.
Your Role:
* Underwrite new business and renewals in line with underwriting guidelines, local business plans, and defined budgets.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal business development managers.
* Assist the Casualty Manager in portfolio management, market profiling, and producer relationships.
* Monitor and manage existing policies, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with underwriting and ethical standards.
* Contribute to underwriting strategy development, profitability forecasting, and portfolio oversight.
* Conduct quality control through underwriting reviews and peer reviews to ensure consistency and integrity.
* Represent and promote the company to both internal and external stakeholders.
Your Skills:
* Solid experience in Casualty underwriting with comprehensive knowledge of Public Liability and Employer’s Liability coverages.
* Proven ability to develop and maintain strong broker and client relationships.
* Results-driven with excellent decision-making and initiative.
* Strong technical and analytical skills with an affinity for systems and advanced proficiency in Excel.
* CIP/ACII qualification or progress toward these is beneficial, alongside a commitment to continuous professional development.
* High attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organisational skills.
Additional Information:
* This role requires a strong technical underwriter who enjoys working collaboratively to deliver innovative solutions.
* A hybrid working model is in place, with three days per week required in the office.
