Job Title: Staff and Senior Occupational Therapist – CAMHS
Medforce Recruitment is seeking passionate Staff Grade and Senior Occupational Therapists to join a dynamic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team in Mullingar. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people with mental health challenges, helping them build resilience and achieve their personal goals.
As part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering evidence-based occupational therapy interventions that promote emotional well-being, social engagement, and daily functioning in children and adolescents.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Grade:
1. Conduct detailed assessments to identify occupational needs of children and adolescents with mental health difficulties.
2. Develop and implement individualized care plans targeting daily functioning, sensory processing, and emotional regulation.
3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, and psychiatrists.
4. Provide education and strategies to families and caregivers to support progress.
5. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service evaluations.
Senior Grade (Additional Responsibilities):
1. Manage a complex caseload with autonomy and provide advanced clinical interventions.
2. Offer clinical supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students.
3. Lead and contribute to service development projects and quality improvement initiatives.
4. Provide specialist advice to the team regarding complex cases.
Requirements:
Essential for Both Grades:
1. A BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
2. Current registration with CORU.
3. Demonstrated experience in paediatrics, mental health, or CAMHS settings.
4. Strong communication, collaboration, and clinical reasoning skills.
5. A family-centered, compassionate approach to care.
Additional for Senior Grade:
1. Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year in mental health or CAMHS.
2. Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and support service development.
3. Experience providing supervision to junior staff is desirable.
