The Leisure Club Manager Manager will report on a daily basis to the Hotel Manager, while liaising with Hotel General Manager to ensure that agreed strategy is delivered across the various segments of the business

We are seeking candidates with a proven track record as a Leisure Club Manager or Senior position within the industry who can demonstrate ability to successfully manage and develop the Leisure Club Team while providing a consistent high quality service to our guests

MAIN DUTIES Ensure that the Department operates in a guest focused manner; always striving to exceed guest expectations thereby building customer and brand loyalty.
To be fully aware of the hotel facilities, activities, targets and promotions, special activities within the hotel To deal with customer complaints in a professional and courteous manner in accordance with company procedures.
Must have previous experience in a similar role and demonstrated business/industry awareness. Manage all areas of operations within the Club/Salon Department to agreed profit levels ensuring standards of quality and service.
Lead and manage the Leisure Club / Salon to ensure the members experience lives up to and exceeds expectations from the moment of initial contact and right through the term of their membership.
At the same time ensure that the hotel guest enjoys similar treatment.
Proactively manage all aspects of the members and guests experience while they are on the premises, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to at all times and these are amended and upgraded as required.
Know all of our members and guests and their needs using appropriate IT and other systems and procedures to assist the process and communicate regularly and meaningfully with them.
Develop and implement a culture of empowerment and individual responsibility to your staff.
Plan and management Human Resources to ensure that the Leisure Club / Salon always have appropriately trained and motivated staff.
This will require monitoring of and planned training on, job competence and behavioural competency together with ongoing individual development and succession planning and appraisals.
Ensure your team are open to, and participate fully in, product and service development and actively seek ways of improving the members experience.
Lead and manage the business development activity always seeking to grow membership and income through retention of existing members and recruitment of new members.
To keep the Pool and Lifeguard qualification up to date. Full responsibility for the financial outcome and management of your department. An understanding of the financial commitment and budgets set for your department. Proactively working towards achievement of Budgets. Manage the Departments commercial activities to ensure top line gains are fully reflected in the bottom line gains.
Build sales through active up-selling and guest care in conjunction with the Hotel Sales and Marketing Manager ensure that all efforts are made to increase sales.
Lead the Business Planning Process for the Leisure Club and Salon under the guidance of the Hotel Manager and Financial Controller.
Plan, execute and review all operational activities ensure that these are in line with Standard Operating Procedures and effecting improvements as appropriate.
Review the Leisure Club / Salon products and services on a regular basis to identify and implement improvements to help increase members satisfaction levels.
Communicate clearly to each staff member the expectations you have for your department through monthly meetings and team building.
Proactively manage the Leisure Club / Salon operations ensuring consistently high levels of friendly and professional service, responding promptly to individual Members and Guests needs and requests.
Ensure that the Leisure Club / Salon Cash and Credit Control Policies are fully implemented at the Club. Operate and maintain all relevant operating systems within the Leisure Club system. Ensure all members are active on the system with correct banking details. Prepare file for running monthly and follow up any rejected payments or direct debits that are returned.
Ensure a high level of hygiene is maintained throughout the Club and keep all work areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
Monitor cleaning programmes and sign off on cleaning duties and ensure they are to the standard required for the Leisure Club.
Operate a club that is to the highest standard of cleanliness and act on any deviations that may occur here.
Ensure that all membership enquiries are dealt with appropriately and that your team follow up on these to ensure maximum memberships are acquired.
Training programmes conducted by your staff with follow up with members. Actively control stocks in your department.
All members have the correct key card for clocking in and that all staff ensure they implement the correct policy of members clocking in, at all times.
Staff to follow up with expired members and this is monitored in your department. Implement class programmes to the requirements of the Club and constantly review these.
Manage the revenue stream of swimming lessons as a high revenue earner for the Club and actively promote this to achieve maximisation.
Ensure all maintenance is kept on top of for your department and where facilities are out of order arrange for the maintenance of these to ensure all equipment is functional at all times.
To assist in implementing company human resources policies including but not limited to recruitment and selection, grievance and discipline, performance appraisal, communication and reward management To communicate effectively at all levels, including attending management meetings To manage, motivate and train employees within the department thereby ensuring a high standard of service/control in all areas Accidents and sickness to be reported as per company policy Hold monthly departmental meetings with your department To be fully aware of budgeted and actual department targets to include revenue, covers and average spend.
To produce rosters ensuring effective staffing levels within budget and review on a daily basis, overtime, rotas, holiday requirements and absenteeism To react to changes in business levels to ensure department costs and expenses are controlled To implement company procedure in the event of fire or emergency To implement and maintain hygiene standards as set out by the Company To adhere to company Health and Safety policy and current Health and Safety legislation To be fully aware of and adhere to security procedures laid down by the hotel and company To report any problems re:
failure of machinery and small equipment to the Maintenance Department and to follow up and ensure the necessary work has been carried out To take part in company internal and external training as required To carry out any reasonable requests by Management / Company Report daily operating issues to Management THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POSITION Be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of management for the Leisure Club and Salon: Must be standards driven and detail orientated, with the desire to progress within the market.
Must have the ability to lead, multi-task and make sound decisions in a fast paced environment. Maintain a professional image at all times through appearance. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Hold relevant qualifications for the position.
