The Ad Astra Fellow - Assistant Professor in Computer Science position is available in the area of Human AI Collaboration within the College of Science.
We are seeking an assistant professor with research expertise on supporting the collaboration between humans and AI, and/or applying AI to facilitate and automate activities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in one or more of the following areas:
* Explainable AI
* Human computer interaction with AI systems
* Speech and audio recognition
* Cybersecurity threat detection and mitigation
* Ai and education
* Responsible AI
Given the societal implications of new AI tools, applications from candidates with experience in AI Accountability, AI Ethics, and Responsible AI will be particularly welcome. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of researchers at the UCD School of Computer Science, which has been at the forefront of AI research for many years.
The School hosts several leading research centres, including:

* ML-Labs: The SFI Centre for Research Training in Machine Learning
* CeADAR: Ireland's Centre for AI
* UCD Centre for Cybersecurity & Cybercrime Investigation
The School has a strong reputation for research excellence, with over 130 PhD students working on the latest topics in computer science, including AI and ML.
This is a full-time permanent position based in Dublin, Ireland. The salary scale is €62,855 - €99,533 per annum. Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
