A highly skilled Tendering Engineer is sought by a leading High Voltage and Medium Voltage engineering services company to join their team in Co Kildare. This esteemed business offers comprehensive electrical design, installation, inspection, commissioning, and maintenance services for large-scale electrical infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
Job Description:
This new role will be part of a successful and growing tender team, responsible for managing the entire tendering process from initiation to conclusion. The ideal candidate will work closely with colleagues to formulate competitive tenders, estimates, and quotations, taking into account the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations.
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensure tenders are well-documented in a timely manner and with an appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs.
* Prepare all aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation, covering technical, financial, project management, and trading conditions.
* Manage relationships with external suppliers to support tender preparation, including supplier technical product compliance, lead time management, and planning issues.
* Identify scope for design alternatives and value engineering, discussing with relevant tendering team members.
* Collect and archive documentation regarding the offer/order and record assumptions and decisions taken during the development process.
* Identify potential risks in the tenders, quotations, and estimates, as well as contract agreements across customers/channels.
Requirements:
To be considered, you should hold a minimum of a Level 7 Degree in a relevant qualification, along with strong project management and organisational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
You should have at least 7 years of experience, with a proportion of this in a MV / HV environment. You should also possess a strong understanding of budgeting, cost management, and financial analysis, as well as experience in project delivery and electrical design.
A strong negotiating ability and previous experience in either the Irish or UK market are also essential.
