Position Summary
Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, this role involves day-to-day management of all fleet technical records, ensuring the availability and accuracy of all aircraft technical data. This role also involves providing technical support to aircraft trading campaigns, and supporting the deal teams in resolving issues to ensure the timely execution of all aircraft acquisition and divestment projects.
Responsibilities
* Management of all fleet technical records, including responsibility for in-house and third-party technical records databases.
* Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all technical data and fleet maintenance records.
* Utilising the latest industry best practices, develop and maintain processes and procedures for the timely collection, storage and sharing of fleet technical data.
* Carry out periodic audits of technical records and databases, including file naming conventions and folder structures.
* Provide training to CAP technical team members on technical records management platforms.
* Manage the performance levels of third-party consultants relating to technical records collection activities.
* Manage access to all OEM platforms, and all OEM data in the technical library.
* Be an active member of deal teams dedicated to aircraft trading activities.
* Assist in the definition and confirmation of purchase and sale conditions related to fleet trading activities.
* Manage all technical pre-purchase due diligence activities for prospective acquisitions, including LOI and lease review, aircraft inspections and technical records due diligence.
* Engage with trading counterparties on all Open Item List (OIL) entries, working collaboratively to ensure timely closure of all items.
* Prepare all technical records for assets identified for sale in the short to medium term, to avoid issues and delays to transaction closings.
* As a member of the technical team, monitor asset utilisation, in particular any reports of reduced or zero utilisation.
* Attend relevant industry seminars and conferences as may be requested.
* Work flexibly to meet the demands of a global business.
* Other duties as assigned by the Head of Technical Services.
* Dublin, Ireland office based and willingness to travel as required, often at short notice.
Qualifications
Education & Certificates
* Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university, a formal aircraft technical apprenticeship, or broad experience in a relevant field.
* OEM Type Rating or General Familiarisation on at least one modern commercial aircraft type.
Professional Experience
* 10+ years’ aviation technical experience.
* 5+ years’ experience in a similar role with an aircraft asset manager or lessor.
* Strong working knowledge of all popular aircraft technical records management platforms.
* Experience in negotiating aircraft and engine contracts, including LOI, purchase, sale, and lease contracts.
* Must have excellent working knowledge of modern commercial aircraft and engines, and a broad understanding of the aircraft leasing industry.
* Excellent communication and writing skills.
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* Fluent in English; additional languages a plus.
* Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
* Self-starter using own initiative but also a strong team player.
* Strong work ethic with ability to work under tight deadlines and flexibility to work different hours.
