The Web Project Team within the External Relations Office is seeking an experienced Digital Content Specialist (Web) to work with them on the University’s website migration & rebuild project.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced digital writer or content editor with a portfolio of work on large websites with multiple stakeholders. They will have:
* Experience in developing and implementing end-user and goal-focused content plans and strategies for websites, including the application of SEO best practices.
* A demonstrable background in writing, editing, and proofreading content for websites and publishing that content via a Content Management System.
* Experience using data to assess the success of their written content and adapting content where needed.
* Experience in communicating best practices, guidelines, and requirements to stakeholders, including working closely with content creators to help them develop their skills in writing for the web, adhering to tone and brand guidelines, creating effective content plans and strategies, and meeting established content standards.
This Digital Content Specialist (Web) will report to the Head of Digital and work as part of the Web Project team, focused on the migration and rebuild of the Maynooth University website. This role will work collaboratively with our community of web editors, developing and delivering a program that enables our Departments, Offices, Research institutes, and other units to create and follow content plans that support their goals and needs of the University. The successful candidate will provide training, best-practice guidance, and support for MU Staff on writing, adapting, testing, and publishing online content to meet those goals.
This role will create a library of training and reference material for the University to be used by our Web Editors to maintain a high standard of web content, consistency of quality, tone, and discoverability after the project finishes. In addition, the Digital Content Specialist will carry out content projects to write content for key strategic sections of the University website.
Prospective applicants should note that this role does not involve creating social media content.
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
