Speech Technology Specialist (French)
Location: Dublin, Ireland - Remote after initial 8-week training
We are seeking a fluent French speaker with a strong background in linguistics and computational experience to join our cutting-edge Speech Technology project. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our voice synthesis technology for French, focusing on quality improvements, pipeline optimization, and resolving language-specific challenges.
Key Responsibilities
* Technology Development and Maintenance: Create and maintain regression and text normalization test sets for French
* Source and validate datasets for training natural language processing systems
* Develop text normalization rules using JavaScript
* Maintain pronunciation golden sets for grapheme-to-phoneme (G2P) evaluation
* Language-Specific Optimization: Identify and resolve French-specific linguistic issues (e.g., grammatical gender, word stress, segmentation)
* Conduct thorough audio evaluations to ensure high-quality output
* Address frontend bugs reported for the French language model
* Continuously refine text normalization processes
* Quality Assurance: Ensure voice deployments meet rigorous capability testing standards
* Perform ongoing audio evaluations to maintain excellence in speech output
Qualifications
* French (C1/C2 level) and English language skills (C1/C2)
* Degree in Linguistics or a related field
* Expertise in International Phonetic Alphabet
* Proficiency with Linux/Ubuntu environments
* Strong Python programming skills
* Eligibility for full-time employment in Ireland
