The successful candidate must prioritise the care and support of individual and family residents to ensure that their individual health and social care needs are prioritised. The ideal candidate will embody a person-centred culture with flexibility and enthusiasm.
Candidates will lead our management team to ensure compliance with IPAS and HIQA and will manage and oversee our risks register.
Role Overview
This role will focus on risk management, compliance, and incident handling across the Group, ensuring alignment with Irish law, national policies, and standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively manage incidents, accidents, complaints, and risks across the organisation.
* Ensure policies on Risk Management, Complaints, Child Protection, and Adult Safeguarding comply with national regulations.
* Support, advise, and train staff on risk assessment, incident management, and compliance processes.
* Help Centre Managers assess and score risks.
* Report to the Governance Board quarterly and collaborate on corporate risk management.
* Ensure all identified risks have short- and long-term mitigation plans.
* Maintain and improve internal systems for managing incidents and escalating serious cases to Tusla, An Garda Síochána, HSE, and IPAS.
* Monitor risk registers and track compliance with national standards.
* Support management in preparing for HIQA inspections and audits.
* Develop compliance reports and action plans.
* Oversee the complaints process, ensuring timely investigations.
* Deliver training to ensure consistent risk and incident management.
* Track recommendations from audits and serious incident reports.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with contract agreements.
* Work closely with senior management and external agencies to maintain high governance standards.
Candidate Requirements
* A Level 8 qualification in Social Care, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
* 5+ years of management experience in Direct Provision, Social Care, or Healthcare.
* 1+ year of experience working with individuals in crisis, asylum seekers, or emergency accommodation.
* Strong knowledge of National Standards for Direct Provision Accommodation.
* Expertise in risk management, incident handling, and compliance.
* Experience working with diverse communities and using translation tools.
* Understanding of key policies: Children First, Mental Health Act, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults, Human Rights Approach.
* Skilled in data analysis, reporting, and trend identification in risk and safeguarding.
* Experience delivering training and presentations on risk and compliance.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation (Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, ISO 45000).
* Ability to travel for inspections, site visits, and training.
* Familiarity with the ASSIST complaints management process.
* Experience using cloud-based risk management systems.
