Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)

Salary: €50,000 - €60,000+ (Based on Experience)
About the Position
A leading Building Services Consultancy is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join their Dublin-based team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile commercial, industrial, and residential projects. As part of a dynamic team, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and delivery of innovative and sustainable building services solutions.
What You’ll Do
* Design, develop, and oversee mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and water supply systems
* Collaborate with architects, project managers, and contractors to deliver design solutions that meet project requirements
* Produce and review technical drawings, schematics, and specifications using industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
* Ensure designs comply with local and international building regulations, health & safety standards, and environmental considerations
* Provide technical support and expertise throughout the project lifecycle, including on-site visits and commissioning activities
* Identify and propose energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions
* Support tender processes by preparing cost estimates, technical specifications, and procurement documents
What We’re Looking For
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or related discipline)
* 2-5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in building services or consultancy roles
* Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems in commercial, residential, or industrial buildings
* Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical design tools
* Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards (CIBSE, ASHRAE, etc.)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
* Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
