Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Accountant to cover a maternity contract. The successful candidate will report directly to the Accounts Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation of monthly accounts, from initiation through to sign-off, for profit & loss and balance sheet areas.
* Prepare Monthly Accruals/Prepayment/Stock Journals.
* Perform Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Nominal Analysis.
* Prepare quarterly accounting information, including Cost Centre/Departmental Reporting.
* Monitor compliance with corporate policies regarding Cash Management.
* Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly cash reconciliations across various depots.
* Prepare and file VAT3/VAT RTD/Intra Stat and other statutory returns.
* Prepare monthly cash reports.
* Develop budgets and forecasts.
* Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team to optimize finance-related IT systems, leveraging ERP and consolidation systems to their full potential.
* Perform other ad-hoc duties and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
* Holds a qualified accountant status with at least 3 years of experience.
* Possesses audit experience.
* Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
* Able to organize work effectively and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills.
* Exhibits excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ambitious and driven.
* Owning own transport is preferred.
