Job Purpose
We seek a Data Center and Hosting Team Operations specialist to assist in developing and supporting EirGrid's Data Centers, SAN Technology, VMWare estate, Microsoft Operating Systems and Critical Infrastructure.
The focus will be on major programs to upgrade and implement on-premise and Co-Location facilities.
About You
* Installation of Hardware technologies in on-premise and Co/Lo environments.
* Support the Data Center and Hosting Lead in delivering project targets and operational KPIs.
* Day-to-day operations of Storage Area Networks within 24x7 Critical National Infrastructure.
* Testing and implementation of operational on-premises physical and virtual Windows server-based infrastructure within defined time scales.
* Testing and operating of VMWare environments.
* Assist with operating Disaster Recovery procedures.
* Assist with project teams and business users to analyze business and technical infrastructure requirements.
* Act as an escalation point for issues that arise on I.T. Systems managing Critical National Infrastructure & Control Rooms.
* Log support requests with 3rd party vendors.
* Identify, prioritize and resolve incidents and problems.
* Work with Cyber Security and internal I.T. Teams, supporting critical security patch deployment across varied I.T. Systems.
* Windows Server Infrastructure, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Sites and Services.
* Azure Administration and familiarity with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
* Support asset management of Data Center infrastructure including inventory maintenance, warranty management, vendor support and configuration backups.
* Document Runbooks and processes to support On-Call Team.
* Operate within EirGrid's Governance & Planning guidelines when developing and delivering IT solutions.
