In Barden we are delighted to partner with an innovative global tech group who are growing their finance team by creating a brand new role to take ownership of the organisation’s ESG strategy. The position of ESG Manager will join the finance team to establish this new function.
This is a pivotal role within the finance team, where you will work to integrate sustainability into operations, ensuring the company can meet new regulatory requirements and enhance transparency in reporting practices. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional looking to make a real difference in how companies approach sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic ESG Integration: Lead and oversee the execution of the company’s ESG strategy, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and industry standards.
2. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant ESG regulations, particularly CSRD and other key frameworks.
3. Sustainability Reporting: Design and manage comprehensive processes for collecting and reporting reliable ESG data, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
4. Carbon and Energy Optimization: Spearhead the development of strategies for carbon reduction and energy optimization throughout the organisation.
5. Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective adoption of ESG initiatives.
6. Mentorship & Development: Provide guidance to junior team members, fostering their growth in ESG and sustainability practices.
7. Audit & Assurance: Support both internal and external ESG audits, implementing necessary controls to ensure the integrity of data and processes.
8. Emerging ESG Trends: Stay informed about the latest ESG trends, regulations, and sustainability legislation, advising the business on their implications.
9. Change Management: Drive the adoption of new ESG reporting tools and processes to enhance data management and reporting efficiency.
About the person:
* Ideally the successful person be a qualified Accountant with experience in ESG reporting. Strong knowledge of ESG regulations and trends will be important. You will be a strong communicator with good time management. Someone with experience in change management, problem solving and building strong relationships will be a good fit for this role.
