Job Title: Capital Project Manager
Opportunity:
NIRAS is currently recruiting for an experienced Capital Project Manager who will lead and manage large-scale Biopharma capital projects consisting of contracted professionals to safely achieve project objectives from front-end design through operational qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety/Environment:
* Developing and maintaining safety and environmental execution plans for projects.
* Ensuring compliance to safety and environmental policies, procedures, and work rules for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors from conceptual design through operational qualification.
* Demonstrating leadership and continuous improvement in safety and environmental processes.
2. Compliance:
* Leading with a disciplined, structured approach to project management based on industry-accepted project management tool-sets.
3. Interface/Communication:
* Developing/maintaining communication with project team, business partners, and other stakeholders.
* Projects will be of strategic importance to the Enterprise so ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders is of utmost importance with attention to detail and the ability to relate those details to the overall business objective.
* The Capital Project Manager must effectively work with site personnel to ensure capabilities are delivered and consistent with needs of operation while maintaining safety, cost, and schedule conformance.
4. Culture:
* In certain circumstances, the Capital Project Manager may need to:
o Interact with the external environment.
o Must represent the client to external partners and to the community.
o Must demonstrate the ability to foster the right culture on the worksite as well as convey this externally.
Required Skill Sets and Attributes:
* The capacity to achieve results through people.
* Facilitate issue resolution, anticipate scope changes, and implement safely with quality, speed, and value.
* Exhibit a good sense of judgment in decision making, without need for management approval while at the same time keeping management informed and engaged on critical issues.
* Have in-depth knowledge and experience in, application of industry-accepted project management experience.
* Demonstrable value and disciplined, structured approach to project management and ability to create and communicate progress via a metric-based program.
* Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
* Ability to influence personnel and organizations without having direct administrative responsibility for them.
* Influence on and understanding of external environment in order to understand comparative value and possible risks.
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Ideally over 10 years of work experience across major pharmaceutical start-ups.
* Third-Level Qualification or equivalent preferably in an engineering/project management field.
* Capital Expenditure > €50 Million.
