**Job Summary**
The successful candidate will manage, plan, organize and evaluate the daily operation, staff and quality control of multiple laboratory disciplines and/or shifts. They will provide operational leadership by interacting with clients, presenting organizational capabilities, defining scope of work and delivering results through execution and technical guidance.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Provides leadership to Clinical Laboratory Operations' team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
* Develops, communicates and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
* Manages day-to-day activities and staff; hires, trains, disciplines and supervises staff.
* Evaluates performance and ensures appraisals are completed on a timely basis; sets daily priorities and delegating work assignments; ensures scheduled staff hours and vacation provide adequate coverage; ensures maintenance of employee and operational records.
* Manages the development and validation of analytical methodologies for a wide range of pharmaceutical dosage forms.
* Ensures results by solving problems of a diverse scope; drives initiatives outside of standard work function; leads investigations.
* Collaborates and effectively communicates with clients and internal groups.
* Collaborates with business development and contracts to assist in project definition and costing.
* Ensures timely completion and compliance with all other relevant company training requirements.
* Motivates a high performing team to meet the current and evolving needs of the business through effective selection, training and development, coaching and mentoring and performance management.
* Performs related duties as required.
**Qualifications**
* Bachelor's Degree required.
* Current License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
* 6-8 years of technical experience required and 2-5 years of leadership/management experience preferred OR Master's Degree with 2-4 years of technical experience.
