Production Maintenance Technician
This is a permanent, immediate start position reporting to the Production Manager. The role involves working in a straight day shift from 7.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 7.00am to 1.00pm on Friday.
Duties:
* Maintenance and troubleshooting of all production-related equipment in the production areas, including printers, print and apply machines, Pax Engines, barcode readers, scanners, weight checkers, vision systems, glue machines, conveyors, label applicators, vibrating hoppers, outer carton machines, etc.
* Providing production support, working to tight deadlines, and attending production meetings.
* Calibration of weight checkers and print and apply applicators (Zebra ZT410/ZE500) with experience in Cams, gear motors, drives, and pulleys.
* Ensuring the smooth running of automated packaging machines, maximizing output over two shifts while adhering to strict production targets.
* Changing over machines to suit different pack sizes.
* Implementation of proactive preventative maintenance programs, including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance.
* Analysis and reporting of downtime and maximizing line efficiency.
* Conducting risk assessments.
* Proactive approach to continuous improvements to maximize output through online monitoring of machines.
* Electro-mechanical repairs.
* Identifying critical parts and maintaining efficient record and stock control of such parts.
* Compliance with ISO 13485-2016 and maintenance of appropriate procedures.
* Troubleshooting and maintaining agreed stock control of spare parts.
* Maintenance of all on-site plant and equipment.
* Performing validation of new equipment (FAT/IQ/OQ/PQ/SQ).
* Working with cross-functional teams for the design and approval of artworks for new and existing products.
* Setting up new machinery and advising on best fits.
* Responsibility for all facilities within the organization.
* Responsibility for company SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
* Working closely with service providers to implement and maintain SLAs.
* Training of new maintenance staff, including evening/night machine setters/operators.
* Conformance to GMP/GDP procedures and policies while working in a clean room environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with work-related experience in a senior role in a medical device, pharmaceutical company, or equivalent.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in various media.
* Possession of data analysis, trends, and reporting skills with the ability to read and interpret documents.
* Able to write clearly and informatively for technical documentation, routine reports, correspondence, procedures, and workflows.
* Presentation of numerical data effectively.
* Excellent IT skills, with knowledge of SAP being an advantage.
