We are looking for a Lead Automation Engineer to join our team at our office located in Cork, Ireland.
In this role, you will provide technical leadership, support projects, and business development for process automation design and implementation. You will also be responsible for the implementation of control systems such as DCS and PLC / SCADA for Pharmaceutical and Biotech related projects.
Additionally, you will be responsible for the development of system architecture and the identification of qualified third-party system integrators. Other responsibilities will include developing standards, procedures, training manuals, and other documentation for projects or internal use.
Additional Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership for the Automation component of IPS projects and collaborate with client counterparts to develop the Automation System Architecture at an early phase of a project.
* Collaborate with the Process Design Group and project teams to support the execution of successful project studies and work with Process Engineers to develop functional requirement specifications for automation systems.
* Develop User Requirement Specifications for Automation Scope of Work.
* Work with end users and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), to coordinate the application of automation products.
* Work with third-party system integrators to support projects.
* Perform other related job functions as assigned, e.g., instrumentation and controls specifications and design and support project teams in the delivery of individual projects, focusing on quality objectives.
* Develop the design of Process Control and Automation systems in compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
* Support risk assessments, including SIL, LOPA, and HAZOP.
* Travel to other IPS office locations and client sites to support projects and business objectives.
* Assist Management in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and other sales and marketing documents.
Qualifications & Requirements
* 8 years of diversified engineering experience with in-depth knowledge of industry requirements and applications within the Process Automation market.
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering - ME/EE/Automation/Manufacturing – or equivalent degree.
Preferred Qualifications
* Excellent communication skills, including presentation skills.
