Your daily impact
* Draft and develop detailed electrical design layouts, schematics, and calculations within your discipline, ensuring compliance with standards and project objectives.
* Independently solve design and technical problems based on your experience level, contributing to project success.
* Prepare accurate mark-ups for the CAD team, draft design specifications, and assist with the selection of plant and equipment.
* Maintain project files in line with ISO system requirements, ensuring documentation is up to date.
* Engage effectively with suppliers, design teams, and cross-functional members, while being aware of the project's scope and preventing scope creep.
* Actively participate in QA audits and technical service meetings, maintaining a focus on continuous improvement.
* Keep up to date with market trends in M&E design by attending industry CPDs, seminars, and relevant exhibitions.
* Assist with site surveys and prepare condition reports, source accurate budget information, and provide accurate data to IES technicians.
* Review, assess, and action submittals, and undertake detailed design for all services outlined in the approved brief or strategy.
* Accompany senior engineers to project meetings, record proceedings, and assist in closing out any required actions.
* Maintain awareness of project and construction schedules to ensure that work progresses efficiently and in alignment with overall timelines.
Your Toolkit
* A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognised institution.
* Relevant experience in electrical engineering design for building services or construction projects.
* Experience in creating electrical system designs including lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, and other building services.
* Knowledge of M&E design trends and technologies.
* Experience working within ISO standards and adhering to project-specific scopes.
* Familiarity with budgeting, cost control, and providing technical information to IES technicians.
* Competence in software tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design platforms.
* Proven experience working in a collaborative team environment on multidisciplinary projects.
