The Trading Commercial Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and managing pricing strategies to ensure the competitiveness of Centra’s product range in the market. This is a strategic commercial role within the Trading team, working closely with the category managers and their teams as well as cross functionally with the Supply Chain, Trading Finance, Sales and Marketing teams to deliver a winning market position.
Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
* Lead and shape the overall Centra Price Strategy, contributing to the business Value Strategy, ensuring its constant relevance to consumer sentiment and the macro environment.
* Influence and shape the future Price Policy for Centra by format, modelling outcomes and driving implementation.
* Work alongside pricing analyst to generate price position and carry out analysis to support reporting of same to key stakeholders. Monitor competitor pricing and trends to identify opportunities and risks (Retail and Wholesale).
* Engage with our retail partners and work collaboratively to build relationships & improve ways of working with them.
* Work collaboratively with Trading team to maintain price and ensure governance guardrails are adhered to.
* Manage any price related campaigns from a Trading perspective, working cross functionally to do so; similarly, when a competitor in the market enacts a price campaign.
* Work closely with Data Science team & IT to continually improve price process efficiency and enhance price insight.
* Key contributor to new strategic projects such as the Omega.
* Represent Trading on key Forums and at retailer engagement sessions as required – Consumer Forum, Value Steering.
* Providing updates on the Value agenda for our Management Team, Exec Team and Board as required.
* Providing appropriate updates on upcoming legislation and changes across the retail landscape.
The successful candidates will possess the following:
* Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a commercial role in a retail / FMCG environment with a track record of developing and delivering a commercial strategy and strong results.
* Strong interpersonal, people leadership & stakeholder management skills.
* Experienced in connecting to and working with mid-senior management positions.
* Detail oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Knowledge of the Irish grocery retail industry and dynamics a distinct advantage.
* Technically advanced IT skills- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio and other MS Office tools.
* Strong Planning, Organisation & Presentation Skills.
* Proven commercial acumen and experience of translating consumer insight into innovative and differentiating market leading shopper propositions.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A logical, methodical approach to problem-solving.
* Structured and independent way of working, including strong issue identification and hypotheses generation skills to mitigate implementation risks.
This is a 24 month contract.
