Corporate Affairs Manager (Qualified Accountant)
We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Affairs Manager to join our team at Water Safety Ireland (WSI) in Galway. This is a new role that will oversee the establishment of a Corporate Affairs Unit, reflecting the increased workload within WSI.
This hybrid position requires the candidate to be based in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week.
Main Responsibilities:
* Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership for WSI's financial affairs, developing and recommending budget and financial planning strategies.
* Financial Management: Prepare and manage WSI's annual budget; prepare the annual account in accordance with DPENDR circulars and comply with Financial Standard FRS 102.
* Compliance: Meet the requirements of the Comptroller and Auditor General for annual audit and WSI Internal Audit; ensure full compliance with Prompt payment Legislation, Revenue and Procurement guidelines and contract management.
* Cost-Effectiveness: Review all WSI related financial accounts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial efficiency and prudency.
Key Requirements:
* Qualifications: Qualified Accountant with a minimum 5 years PQE (ACA, ACCA).
* Experience: Previous experience of working in a public sector financial environment is desirable.
* Skillset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong leadership and team management skills, experience in project management, and ability to work effectively under pressure.
Estimated Salary:
Based on national averages, the estimated salary for this role is approximately €60,000 - €80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
