Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised individual to join our finance team as a part-time Payroll and Accounts Payable Assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process payroll for a small to medium-sized workforce, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
* Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to management.
* Process and manage supplier invoices, ensuring they are paid on time.
* Review and verify the accuracy of invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies.
* Maintain accurate records of all transactions and reconcile accounts.
* Prepare payment runs and manage payment schedules.
* Communicate with suppliers regarding payment issues or discrepancies.
* Assist with monthly and year-end closing procedures.
* Support the preparation of financial reports and budgets as required.
* Manage administrative tasks related to payroll and accounts payable functions.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in payroll processing and accounts payable.
* Strong knowledge of payroll systems and software.
* Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
* Good understanding of taxation, payroll legislation, and accounting procedures.
* Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage deadlines efficiently.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* A qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field would be advantageous.
