What does a Software Development Engineer do at Workday?
1. Designs and implements elegant, scalable and performant features and components in a team-oriented environment
2. Delivers high quality, well thought-out features that keep Workday's application developers in mind
3. Collaborates with team members by white-boarding and working through ideas with constructive recommendations from the rest of the team and vice-versa
4. Shares knowledge via mentoring, reviews and technical discussions
5. Introduces the team to new technologies, frameworks, and points of view

About You

Basic Qualifications
8. 6+ years of experience with object-oriented design and experience programming with Java
9. 3+ years of experience with standard development tools and processes: source control, IDEs, frameworks, JUnit tests, debugging, issue trackers (e.g., JIRA), code review tools, pipeline testing, etc.
10. 1+ year(s) of experience of using or implementing REST APIs
11. Demonstrated experience delivering projects by leveraging curiosity and collaboration in feature design
12. Proven ability to share knowledge via formal mentoring, reviewing code, reviewing design docs, giving technical talks, teaching classes, or as a project consultant
13. Competence in communicating design ideas cohesively using UML and presentations
14. Ability to ask “what can I do to help?” to propel the team or technology forward without prompting
Other Qualifications
15. 1+ year of experience with other Web Services technologies (SOAP, XML/Schema, WSDL, XSLT, SAX, etc.)
16. BS or higher degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
