Perry Ellis International, Inc. represents a diverse portfolio of lifestyle apparel brands. The Company, through its wholly owned subsidiaries, owns and licenses nationally and internationally recognized brands including: Perry Ellis, Original Penguin by Munsingwear, Laundry by Shelli Segal, Rafaella, Cubavera, Ben Hogan, Savane, Grand Slam, John Henry, Manhattan, Axist, and Farah. The Company enhances its roster of brands by licensing trademarks from third parties, including: Nike for swimwear, and Callaway, PGA TOUR, and Jack Nicklaus for golf apparel.
SUMMARY
This position supports internal customers throughout all Perry Ellis International Business Divisions. The Buyer sources, qualifies, selects, negotiates, and purchases from product and service providers in the Indirect Materials area. The Buyer is responsible for fostering supplier partnerships and for the development, implementation of, and monitoring of a supplier review process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Procure goods and services in the most time efficient and economical manner possible, consistent with internal customer requirements and company policies and procedures.
2. Provide appropriate follow-up and communication on all quotes requested and purchases made.
3. Consolidate purchasing efforts across all operations wherever it makes sense, with the objective of cost reduction and reduced overall administrative overhead.
4. Develop and achieve planned goals in cost reductions, supplier performance, and process improvement.
5. Provide for timely and effective communication with suppliers and internal customers to resolve procurement-related issues.
SKILLS
1. Experience buying both goods and services in a manufacturing and/or retail environment.
2. Experience negotiating and/or working with contracts and agreements.
3. An excellent communicator both verbally and in writing.
4. Comfortable and proficient with all types of Google applications including Sheets, Docs, Drive.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Required – Five (5) or more years of purchasing experience of both goods and services.
2. Experience within an organization with revenues in excess of $250M.
3. Experience with inventory control.
4. Experience purchasing IT products & services.
5. Experience utilizing Oracle system.
Required – High School Degree, Associate's Degree.
