EHS Advisor - Mechanical and Electrical Contractor - Dublin

Our client is one of Ireland’s leading Mechanical, Electrical & Maintenance Contracting Companies currently embarking on an exciting phase of expansion throughout Ireland & Overseas. They service clients across a wide range of business sectors such as Pharmaceutical, Data Centres, Healthcare, and large Commercial Projects.
They are currently looking for a strong individual to join the EHS team to support in overall Health & Safety efforts. The successful candidate will ensure that practices and procedures within the workplace coincide with safety legislation and standards are always maintained. This role is based in Dublin and surrounding areas depending on sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducting regular, formal/ informal site audits, observation and carrying out required inspections as directed in the Safety Management System and applicable legislation.
2. Ensure records of statutory inspections are kept up to date for all activities, and plant equipment.
3. Liaising with site supervision on shortfalls, necessary improvements, and report back to EHS manager.
4. Investigating incidents and accidents and capturing onto the HSMS.
5. Accompanying and assisting with site inspection visits as required by the Health & Safety Authority.
6. Delivering Health & Safety induction programs for new employees and contractors working on site.
7. Managing and making recommendations for Personal Protection Equipment required.
8. Serving as representative at H&S related weekly site meetings and keeping minutes.
9. Organising and chairing the Safety Meetings for Contractor and Sub-Contractors personnel.
10. Ensuring sub-contractor safety statement, relevant documentation and records as well as required Method statements are available on site and assess sub-contractor statements and method statements, assisting where required.
11. Advising / assisting Site Management in drafting and communicating RAMS.
12. Compiling, updating and communicating site Emergency Plans.
13. Conducting site safety equipment inspections like fire extinguishers and first aid boxes.
14. Collecting and collating relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File and preparing for handover to the Client at the end of the project.
15. Liaising with management in relation to Training requirements.
16. Facilitating toolbox talks.
17. Assisting with ISO audit compliance, and H & S related assistance when required by the H&S Manager and Director.
18. Liaising with main contractors and site safety teams.
19. Attending department meetings.
Requirements:
* Recognised EHS Qualification
* 1 year's minimum experience
* Previous experience with M&E Contractors on Construction Sites a distinct advantage
* Capacity to multi-task across multiple sites
* IT Proficient in Microsoft Suite
* Valid Irish Driver’s license required
* Valid SAFE PASS and Manual handling certificates
* Team Player must demonstrate ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
