Job Description The Mobile Pipefitter will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing pipework systems across various sites.
This role involves handling minor works projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship, adhering to safety standards, and working independently or as part of a small team.
The ideal candidate should be mobile with the ability to travel to different job sites, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Please note, this is an annualised salary position.
Roles and Responsibilities Installation of Pipework Systems: Install pipe systems for heating, water, gas, and drainage in commercial facilities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.Repair and Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and emergency repairs on existing pipework systems, identifying and resolving issues efficiently.Minor Works Projects: Handle small-scale piping works such as modifications, system upgrades, and replacements.Pipe Fabrication: Measure, cut, bend, and assemble pipes from materials such as steel, copper, and plastic, using appropriate tools and techniques.Welding and Brazing: Perform welding, soldering, or brazing of pipes when required, ensuring joints are properly sealed and secure.Site Inspections: Assess job sites before work begins to identify material needs, site conditions, and potential risks.Compliance with Health & Safety: Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including safe working practices for lifting, handling, and working with hazardous materials in line with company standards.Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on project progress and resolving any issues that may arise on-site.Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork including job sheets, risk assessments, and material requisitions.Skills and Requirements Proven experience as a pipefitter, preferably in a mobile or field-based role.3+ years of experience in pipefitting or plumbing.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Good knowledge of plumbing, heating, and mechanical systems.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.Good communication and customer service skills.Certification in welding or other relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, FETAC in pipefitting or plumbing).Experience with welding and pipe fabrication.Understanding of building services engineering.Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings.Experience in small to medium-sized project management (minor works).Mobile or field service experience is an advantage.Personal Attributes: High attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Self-motivated, with a strong sense of responsibility.A team player with the ability to work independently when necessary.Reliable, with a strong work ethic.If you are ready to make a difference and be part of a growing industry, please submit your CV, along with a cover letter highlighting your relevant experience and why you are interested in this role.
