Head Chef Opportunity - 4* Hotel in Cork City
Responsibilities:
* Responsible to Exec Chef for all aspects of managing the kitchen areas and personnel, ensuring the quality preparation of all menu items to the highest standards.
* Co-ordinate roster scheduling, labour costs, assist with recruitment, and oversee staff productivity and performance with Exec Chef.
* Hands-on approach in a fast-paced environment, controlling service from the front to ensure maximum results and guest satisfaction.
* Passionate and creative Chef required, assisting with developing and implementing new menu ideas for special events and changing with the seasons, including new menus for Bar, Lounge, Restaurant, and Private Dining.
* Ability to prioritise, organise, and delegate work assignments, overseeing staff performance with prompt follow-up where required.
* Promote positive work relationships with suppliers, service personnel, and other departments.
* Work with Exec Chef to ensure that HACCP is implemented and documented efficiently, maintaining all standards and reducing food and energy wastage in the kitchens.
* Help develop a team spirit amongst all kitchen staff, including Chefs and the stewarding team, to maintain a cohesive team.
* Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment and promptly issue requests for repairs when required.
* Oversee and assist in directing onboarding and training of new hires and maintain an ongoing training program for existing staff.
Qualifications:
* 2-3 years experience in a similar role and property in Ireland is preferred; experienced Sous Chefs will also be considered.
