They are currently recruiting for a Construction Operations Director. ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Construction Operations Director will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the operational aspects of construction projects within the organisation. They are responsible for ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and according to schedule. The Construction Operations Director collaborates closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project completion while maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to safety regulations. Typical projects that the Operations Director will be required to oversee will be located in Ireland, UK, and Europe delivering full envelope solutions to blue-chip clients across logistics, manufacturing, data centre, and pharmaceutical sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Execution:
Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Coordinate with project managers to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met.
Monitor project progress and address any issues or risks that may impact timelines or budget.
2. Resource Management:
Oversee the allocation of resources, including labour, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project execution.
Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to manage the sourcing and delivery of materials and equipment.
Optimize resource utilization to minimize costs and maximize productivity.
3. Quality Control:
Establish and enforce quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve any quality issues or deficiencies.
Implement corrective actions and improvement measures to enhance project quality.
4. Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that construction sites comply with safety regulations and standards.
Collaborate with safety officers and project managers to develop and enforce safety protocols.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
5. Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, architects, and engineers to facilitate effective communication and coordination.
Resolve conflicts and address concerns raised by stakeholders.
Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management.
6. Budget and Cost Control:
Develop project budgets and monitor expenses to ensure projects remain within budgetary limits.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Analyse financial data and provide accurate cost forecasts and reports to support decision-making.
7. Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Stay up to date with industry trends and technological advancements to incorporate relevant innovations into construction operations.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have a background and proven experience in construction operations, project management, or a similar role with particular knowledge of building envelope construction methods including steel structures, curtain walling, facades, doors, and cladding. You will have gained a strong knowledge of construction industry standards, regulations, and best practices from your previous experience. As a senior manager, you will have exceptional people management skills and will demonstrate excellent leadership and team management capabilities, be an effective communicator with great interpersonal abilities to build strong relationships with stakeholders and teams that you will work with.
In addition, you will:
1. Have exceptional commercial and contractual awareness.
2. Have a Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Proficient in project management software and tools.
5. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Understanding of financial principles and budget management.
7. Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols.
There is a very attractive package on offer for the right candidate, including a base salary of €130 – €150k plus a bonus, company car, employer pension, and other attractive benefits. This can be a hybrid role and may involve extended stays in particular jurisdictions.
