We are currently recruiting for a Financial Planning & Reporting Manager in a permanent capacity. The role of Horse Racing Ireland Financial Planning & Reporting Manager reports into the Group Financial Planning & Reporting Manager. The responsibilities & competencies required are as follows:
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate & manage monthly management account reporting and variance analysis.
* Maintain & update Q&A Executive P&L and Balance Sheet reports.
* Prepare monthly management accounts pack including variance analysis.
* Manage of Balance Sheet reporting and confirmations.
* Handle monthly reporting to divisions and quarterly review meetings.
* Assist with production of and reporting on consolidated forecasts and budgets.
* Assist with preparation of consolidated Group management reports.
* Cover for Group payroll, as required.
* Assist in the implementation of a new accounting system project.
* Review and enhance reporting processes and procedures for Horse Racing Ireland.
* Deliver KPI reporting for areas of responsibility.
* Continuously improve the efficiency of the Finance Function.
* Assist Group Financial Planning & Reporting Manager in supporting & motivating teams to provide excellence in all reporting & communication both internally and externally.
* Keep abreast of best practices & appropriately network to broaden self-experience to be of business benefit - driving continuous improvement in our Finances Services & delivery.
Skills and Experience:
* A qualified accountant with experience in a similar role.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office primarily Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* Experience using SUN accounting package and / or Microsoft Dynamics would be an advantage.
* A highly motivated individual with experience of working to deadlines while leading a team & as part of a larger team.
* Strong organisational skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Pursues with energy, drive, doesn't stop at the first answer and sees to the end.
* The ability to be curious and the courage to challenge positively.
* Strong control focus and be willing to challenge where necessary.
* Solution orientated.
* Strong attention to detail with high quality work output.
* Ability to learn quickly and work on your own initiative.
* Strong communication skills particularly in relation to how financial data is presented.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Cultivate new and improved processes.
* An interest in horse racing an advantage but not essential.
