Job Summary
The Legal Counsel will provide legal advice to the business and support its various streams in achieving strategic objectives, ensuring maximum profit and return on invested capital.
Key Responsibilities
* Support senior management in addressing legal needs across corporate, commercial, competition, procurement, compliance, and construction areas.
* Manage corporate matters, regulatory issues, and permits/licenses faced by the business.
* Assist with M&A activities, drafting company policies and procedures, and liaising with the parent company.
* Review unusual, complex, or high-value contracts, analyze tenders, contracts, and terms & conditions.
* Select outside counsel and manage their advice, support commercial teams with tailored legal advice, and deploy the compliance program.
Person Specification
A dynamic individual with strong legal experience, preferably from the infrastructure sector or private practice, possessing outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
* Qualified solicitor or equivalent (minimum 5 PQE/experience), preferably with top law firm commercial department experience.
* Experience working as an in-house lawyer is advantageous, particularly in infrastructure/construction/manufacturing sectors.
* French language skills are beneficial, along with demonstration of continuous professional development.
