The Trustee Role:
This newly created position reports directly to the Board, providing expert advice on all aspects of finance and accounting for the charity's ongoing development.
Given our diverse operations across various sites, our financial governance needs are complex and multifaceted.
The Trustee will offer guidance on all financial and accounting obligations, with a clear mandate to minimize risks.
Closely collaborating with the Chair, Treasurer, and Company Secretary, the Trustee will ensure compliance with financial, risk management, and auditing requirements.
We currently manage routine bookkeeping across all sites through a volunteer.
We expect the successful candidate to possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, acting as an informal educator to help others understand their personal obligations in maintaining compliance at all times.

Qualifications and Experience:
* Financial management expertise and experience
* Formal accounting qualifications
* Audit and risk management experience
* Experience in finance within the voluntary or charity sector is desirable
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Oversight of the charity's financial aspects to ensure short and long-term viability
* Offering expert advice on all financial matters
* Assisting the Board in ensuring the charity meets its duties and responsibilities for proper and effective financial governance
* Preparation of annual accounts and financial reports for relevant parties, including the Board, Charities Regulator, and CRO
* Drafting and overseeing financial policies and procedures
* Oversight of financial compliance and risk management
* Ensuring systems of internal control and risk management operate effectively
* Compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements
* Review of existing documents and gap analysis, if necessary
* Review of data compliance, specifically regarding GDPR and offering advice when needed
