About the Role
The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team plays a vital role in maintaining Amazon's operations. As an RME Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that our equipment is well-maintained and running smoothly at all times.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment
* Carrying out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse
* Using the latest tools to maximise equipment effectiveness
* Upholding all health and safety policies and practices
* Supporting the development and progression of on-site apprentices
* Working on continuous improvement projects and rolling out best practices across a range of EU sites
A Day in the Life
As an RME Technician, you will be based on-site, allowing you to respond quickly to any machinery issues. Your day-to-day activities will involve carrying out planned preventative maintenance to ensure our equipment is working safely.
You will also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. Additionally, you will make suggestions for long-term improvements and work alongside senior colleagues to undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks.
About the Team
The Reliability Maintenance Engineering team is a technically-minded group of excellent team players guided by experienced leaders. Our team works together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres.
We handle most aspects of Amazon's technical side, including installing automated packaging systems, overseeing general maintenance of a site, and repairing key distribution equipment. This includes ensuring buildings are legally compliant and operating at maximum efficiency.
Our team focuses on reducing downtime in Amazon's crucial operations sites, so customers receive their orders on time. We often work during early or late hours to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including night shifts.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* NFQ6 (Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate in Engineering), Solace/Solas level 6 mechanical/Electrical or Mechatronics qualification
* Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems
* Experience in fault finding within MHE/Automation systems
* Experience in interpreting both mechanical and electrical drawings
* Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters
