Hachette Ireland is hiring a Sales and Operations Executive to join our team in Dublin.
Who we are and what we do
Hachette Ireland is the Irish Division of the International Publishing Group Hachette consisting of the following publishers: Hachette Books Ireland, Hodder & Stoughton, Headline, Quercus, Orion, Little, Brown, Octopus and Hodder Children’s. We are responsible for the sales and promotion of the Group’s publishing in Ireland. Hachette Books Ireland is the local publishing division and acquires and publishes books of Irish interest both fiction and non-fiction. Our books regularly feature on the bestseller lists.
What you’ll be doing
1. Provide support for the busy sales department including managing retailer orders and communication with booksellers and the wider team.
2. Responsible for pre-order sales management and information flow to booksellers across Hachette Books Ireland titles and selected Hachette Group titles.
3. Be a key contact with booksellers and authors, organising and attending book launches, events, and book signings.
4. Manage Hachette Ireland social media accounts and work on planning and implementation of online marketing campaigns for Hachette Books Ireland authors, including influencer mailouts, PR mailouts, and bookseller mailouts, writing marketing copy, and social media asset creation.
5. Work closely with the Operations Manager in the administrative running of the Hachette Ireland office.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who loves books and has a keen interest in the book industry. Candidates must have strong organisational skills with a good eye for detail and the ability to be flexible in their role. They should be an excellent communicator and show confidence in dealing with colleagues, booksellers, and authors. A working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint and design programs such as InDesign and/or Canva is key, alongside an ability to learn new processes and systems. They should also be fluent in social media platforms.

The role will be based at our Dublin office, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week with an option for full-time in the office.
