Cpl Healthcare are currently seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist in Oncology services for a private clinic in South Dublin.
The successful candidate will provide a professional nursing service to meet the needs of patients referred to the breast care service, adhering to the five core concepts outlined in The Framework for The Establishment of CNS posts by the National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (NCNM) 2008.
The CNS plays a central role in assessing, counselling, monitoring, and supporting patients with malignant, benign, and family risk of breast cancer.
Key Responsibilities:
* Registered Nurse/Midwife with current NMBI registration to practice.
* Higher Diploma in Oncology Nursing (Breast care) preferred.
* Minimum 5 years of post-registration experience, with 2 years in Oncology and ideally breast care services.
* Evidence of critical appraisal and research utilisation to maintain and improve patient care.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English is required.
* Ability to build rapport with patients, relatives, visitors, and colleagues through clear communication, active listening, and empathy.
* Capacity to diffuse potentially difficult situations involving patients, carers, or multidisciplinary team members.
* Organisational skills for co-ordination and provision of patient care needs, using initiative, time management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
* Collaboration as part of a team.
* Production of verbal and computer-generated reports on patient condition for nurses and professionally qualified workers.
* Demonstration of teaching and presentation skills to enable active participation as a mentor for students and promote an effective learning environment.
