Job Description
We are partnering with a leading public sector organisation to recruit a Temporary Accountant for a 6-month contract with a possible extension.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work within an established team based in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh.
The organisation operates on a hybrid working basis, allowing for regular remote work from home (Monday to Friday, 09:00am - 17:00pm) with flexible working hours and flexi-time arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
* Daily analysis of income and expenditure, including corrective adjustments to ledgers as necessary;
* Preparation of month-end journals;
* Provision of advice on financial transactions, including NI entries;
* Compilation of financial data to support key performance indicators;
* Provision of financial advice and commentary, including statistical analysis using Microsoft Excel to inform management decision-making processes;
* Management of timber sales administrative functions, including staff responsibilities;
* Assistance in preparing financial statements and engaging with audit processes;
* Oversight of cash transactions, including receipts, payments, and bank reconciliations.
Maintenance and Monitoring
* Maintenance of an extensive fixed asset ledger, including review of capital expenditures related to land, buildings, and plant & machinery;
* Monitoring of income and expenditure against budget;
* Preparation and circulation of monthly/quarterly budget reports;
* Collation and development of monitoring round returns, including submissions for bids and easements as appropriate.
Requirements
* Qualified Accountant or part-qualified CAI, ACCA, CIMA;
* Experience in preparing accounts in accordance with accounting standards;
* Experience in procurement processes;
* Able to manage a diverse and complex workload;
* Able to collaborate with stakeholders and develop effective working relationships;
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and workflow databases.
