The Senior R&D Program Manager is directly involved in providing high level management and technical direction to an R&D team ensuring the implementation of strategic and tactical R&D activities. Come for a job, stay for a career! A Day in The Life Of: Provides technical leadership and strategic guidance to their direct project team, as well as other senior leaders within the organization. Oversees one or more programs with clearly defined plans and delivery methods. Establishes program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets and management of technical risk to meet overall project targets and designs. Holds accountability for the overall program process, performance, and customer satisfaction. Evaluation and management of resource and skillset needs to meet program deliverables Motivates and develops team members, including vendors, ensuring clear understanding of expectations and performance standards to successfully complete major programs or projects. Fosters a culture of technical innovation in delivery of world-class medical devices Resolves issues through information exchange, influence, and persuasion, fostering cooperation both within R&D and cross functionally Develops collaborative working relationships with other functions through effective communication and interaction, ensuring R&D employees have the necessary information and resources to perform their jobs effectively. Collaborates remotely with multidisciplinary teams across various time zones and geographies. Executes and revises project work plans to adapt to changing needs and requirements. Effectively represents Medtronic Vascular to external customers. Flexibility to travel - approximately10% of time desirable. Key Skills & Experience Holds a degree at Level 8 in Engineering, Science, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Medical device development experience preferable Proven track record of managing medium to large, high performing teams Strong understanding of structured product development, including requirements-driven engineering, documentation, rigorous verification, and rick management methodologies including DFMEA and PFMEA. Technically proficient in catheter-based product development or relevant product development Skilled in project management principles, concepts, practices, and standards, including various methodologies such as sequential/waterfall, Scrum, and Agile. Experience actively managing major project work streams within large cross-functional teams, focusing on product development and execution through comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and cost/benefit analysis. Excellent stakeholder management skills with demonstrated ability to lead meetings and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers and vendors. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate leadership team and business updates Proven influencing skills across functions and programs. Ability to balance divergent objectives to achieve cooperation and alignment from other parties on program objectives and execution plans.
